Our children have been very busy, being little fashion designers as part of our topic, 'All Dressed Up.' The children chose a design they liked, folded the t-shirts accordingly and tie them tightly using rubber bands. Once they were all done, we put them into the dye and left them for an hour. We put them out to dry after that, and then wore them today!

Spuns Gallery
As part of our clothing topic - All Dressed up, we have focused on traditional costumes, clothes from the past and now and different types of materials.
We are very fortunate at our school to have a clothing museum from the owners sisters who was a fashion designer and designed the outfits you will see in the pictures.
We joined with our other Year 2 class as we are all learning about the same topic.

Our little Scientists
Year 2 have just done their first experiment, seeing which material is waterproof. They had to learn what a fair test was, how to lay out their experiment in their books and then actually conduct their experiment.
The children were testing - wool, cotton, silk and nylon. They predicted their outcomes first then wrote their conclusions with nylon being the waterproof material.

STEM WEEK
Last week we celebrated STEM WEEK by having different activities set up throughout EY, KS1 and KS2.
KS1 children went on a rotation system visiting both Year 1 and Year 2 classes in order to carry out an activity.
The activity for Year 2L was to make a pair of glasses from the resources given and see if they would stay on the person after giving them a few different physical instructions to carry out.
The children were put in groups, having to design their glasses first, then collect resources to make them.
